Founded in 2008 by David and Tara Gladden, NEF is a living experiment in sound, art, technology and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Our work includes live cinema performance, audio-visual installation, recording, animation and public art projects. Explorations are multi-dimensional and combine opposing elements and concepts in contexts and with collaborators that vary from project to project. Explore more of our work at www.neareastfamily.org

PARTNERSHIP was a multi-media, interactive performance inspired by the history of neolithic partnership societies that Riane Eisler presents in her classic book The Chalice and The Blade. It included live music, live video and live movement along with audience participation. Like the societies from which it takes its inspiration, it was an experiment in non-hierarchical collective creation guided by a graphic score composed of neolithic symbols and script.
